【摘要】:Darkstabilityofprintedinkjetmediaforspecifiedperiodsoftimeispertinenttotheenduseofthesematerials.Whilenaturalagingisthemostreliablemethodofassessingimagestability,thelengthoftimerequiredmakesthispracticeimpracticalformostmaterials.Asaresult,acceleratedtestsoftenareused.Thispracticeisanacceleratedshort-termstoragepracticethatsimulateslong-termstoragebutatelevatedtemperature.Itprovidesfasterresultsandisintendedtoidentifyproblemsthatmayoccuroverextendedtimeperiods.Aroomconditionsamplealsoistrackedtoprovidepracticaldata.Becausetestingisdoneatasinglesetofconditions,itisnotintendedtobealong-termpredictorasachievedthroughArrheniustesting.Note28212;Theresultsfromsingleacceleratedtestscanleadtoinaccurateresults.Thisprocedureshouldbeusedonlyforearly-screeninginformationinside-by-sidecomparisonsonly.Arrheniustesting,whichisbasedonmathematicalextrapolationofaseriesofhightemperatureteststoroomtemperature,isabetterpredictorofaproductrsquo;stability.55.1.1Sincetheabilityofaninkjetprinttowithstandcolorchangesisafunctionoftemperatureandhumidity,itisimportantthatdarkstabilitybeassessedundertheconditionsappropriatetotheenduseapplication.Whileinkjetprintsmaybehandledanddisplayedunderavarietyofconditions,thistestpracticeisintendedtoproducethecolorchangesthatmayoccurininkjetprintsupondarkexposureintypicalofficeenvironments.5.1.2Theacceleratedproceduredescribedinthistestpracticeisintendedtoprovideameansfortherapidevaluationofdarkstabilityunderlaboratoryconditions.Testresultsareusefulforspecificationacceptancebetweenproduceranduser,forqualitycontrol,andforresearchandproductdevelopment.5.1.3Colorchangesarenotalinearfunctionofdurationofincubation.Thepreferredmethodofdeterminingdarkstabilityistoincubatetheprintsforanumberofintervals,andtoassesstheexposuretimerequiredtoobtainaspecificcolordifference.1.1Thispracticedescribesanacceleratedprocedureintendedtodeterminethedarkstabilityofinkjetprints.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
