【摘要】:Thereareseveraltestmethodsavailabletomeasuretheleadandcadmiumreleasefromdinnerwareandcookware(seeTestMethodsC738andC1034andSpecificationC1035).Thesestandardsareusedasacontroltoensuretheprotectionofthepopulationagainstapossiblehealthhazard.4Thispotentialhazardariseswithimproperlyformulated,applied,firedglazesanddecorations.Thistestmethoddealsspecificallywithceramictilethatareintendedtocomeincontactwithfoodduringitspreparation(forexample,countertoptile).1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprecisedeterminationofleadandcadmiumextractedbyaceticacidfromglazedceramictilethatareintendedforuseinareasoffoodpreparation.Theprocedureofextractionmaybeexpectedtoacceleratethereleaseofleadfromtheglazeandtoserve,therefore,asaseveretestthatisunlikelytobematchedundertheactualconditionsofusageofsuchceramictile.Thistestmethodisspecificforleadandcadmium.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
