【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesolutionviscosityofpolymersusingadifferentialorthemodifieddifferentialviscometer.Itisapplicabletoallpolymersthatdissolvecompletelywithoutchemicalreactionordegradationtoformsolutionsthatarestablewithtimeandtemperature.Resultsofthetestareusuallyexpressedasspecificviscosity,intrinsicviscosity(limitingviscositynumber),inherentviscosity(logarithmicviscositynumber),orrelativeviscosity(viscosityratio).Sincethereismorethanonetypeofviscometeravailabletomeasureadifferentialpressure,followthemanufacturersdirectionsapplicabletotheequipmentbeingused.ThesolutionviscosityvaluesarecomparablewiththoseobtainedusingaglasscapillaryofTestMethodD2857.Thistestmethoddiffersfromtheglasscapillaryinthatthesolventandthesolutionarecomparedatthesametimethatatestisrun.Withaglasscapillary,eachsolutionmustbereferencedbacktothesolventruninthesamecapillaryatthesametemperature.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection8.Note1ThereisnoISOequivalentmethod.
