【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdesignedtoevaluatealltypesofenvelopedgasketsundercontrolledconditionswithrespecttoleakageandtoprovidemeasurableleakagerates.Determiningtorquerequiredtosealagivengasketisalsopartofthistestmethod.Byconvertingthetorqueatsealingtototalboltload,usefuldesigninformationmaybeobtainedforotherstandardandnonstandardopenings.Thistestmethodmaybeusedasanincomingqualitycontroltesttoevaluatesimilargasketsfromdifferentsuppliers.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedasaqualitycontroltestwhenparametersareagreeduponbetweentheproducerandtheuser.Leakagethroughthegasketoroverthegasket,orboth,isdeterminedbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthesealingpropertiesofenvelopedgasketsforusewithcorrosion-resistantprocessequipment.Envelopedgasketsaredescribedasgasketshavingsomecorrosion-resistantcoveringovertheinternalareanormallyexposedtothecorrosiveenvironment.Theshieldmaterialmaybeplastic(suchaspolytetrafluoroethylene)ormetal(suchastantalum).Aresilientconformablefillerisusuallyusedinsidetheenvelope.ThedesignandconstructionofnonmetallicgasketsiscoveredinPracticeF336.1.2si-value;Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection6.
